British hostage's family 'saddened'

Relatives of a British construction worker thought to have been murdered by a Nigerian Islamist militant group have said they are "shocked and saddened".
Brendan Vaughan's family said he was a "lovable rogue" who "lived his life to the full and on his own terms".
Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Sunday that Mr Vaughan, 55, from Leeds, was "likely" to have been killed, along with six other foreigners.
The workers were captured in a raid on a construction site on 16 February.
Ansaru, a suspected off-shoot of the Boko Haram network, said it had carried out the attack in revenge for what it called atrocities by European nations against Islam.
An Italian, a Greek and four Lebanese workers were also seized in the raid on the Setraco construction site, in the northern state of Bauchi.
One security guard died during the assault.
In a statement, Mr Vaughan's relatives said: "The family of Brendan Vaughan, aged 55 from Rothwell, Leeds, are obviously shocked and saddened by recent events.
"Brendan, best described as a lovable rogue by everyone who knew him, lived his life to the full and on his own terms.
Grandfather-to-be"He was a loved father, brother and fiance who was tragically killed on March 10th 2013."
The statement added that Mr Vaughan had been "deprived of meeting his first grandchild, a baby girl to be born in May.
"Brendan may be gone but will be never forgotten."
On Sunday, Mr Hague said Mr Vaughan was "likely to have been killed at the hands of his captors, along with six other foreign nationals.
"This is an unforgivable act of pure, cold-blooded murder, for which there can be no excuse or justification."
On Monday, the militant group purportedly posted a video online with the caption: "The killing of seven Christian hostages in Nigeria."
In it, a gunman with a rifle is seen standing in the sand next to several bodies, the Associated Press reports.
The video appears to match grainy images of bodies posted online by Ansaru on Saturday.
In an accompanying online statement, the militant group said it had killed the captives.

Kenny Clutch's family mourns rapper killed on Las Vegas Strip - Los Angeles Times
"Kenny Clutch" may have rapped about the gangster life, but Ken Cherry didn't live it, his friends and family said.
"Right now my heart is breaking," Pat Sims, aunt of Cherry, who rapped under the name Kenny Clutch, told the Oakland Tribune. "This has really been a tragedy. Kenny was just a delightful kid."
Cherry, 27, was an aspiring rapper from Oakland who lived in Las Vegas, according to his Facebook. He was killed early Thursday when bullets fired from a black Range Rover peppered his Maserati, authorities said.

"I can tell you this ... the world has lost a good man," Sims said. "I'm not saying he didn't have his faults, but he was very kind, especially to older people. Whatever happened in Vegas, I don't know about, but he was a very kind soul."
His attorney, Vicki Greco, told the newspaper Cherry "was into gangsta rap, but that's not who he was."
"In my interaction with him, I can tell you that by the way he looked and what he put out there on his videos, he fit a certain stereotype," Greco said. "But I also can tell you that away from that, he was anything but that kind of stereotype. He was honest. He was loyal. He was very dependable. Sometimes, he'd drop by my office just to say hello. He was a nice, nice kid."

Authorities said Cherry and the Range Rover had left the Aria resort hotel and were heading north on Las Vegas Boulevard at 4:20 a.m., a time when the casino marquees shine bright but the gambling thoroughfare is largely empty. At Harmon Avenue, occupants of the Range Rover opened fire on Cherry's Maserati, police said.
The silver-gray sports car, which was struck several times, sped into the intersection at Flamingo Road, ramming a Yellow Cab, officials said. The taxi exploded, killing the driver and a passenger. Four other vehicles in the intersection were also involved in the crash and explosion, but police offered no details.
Cherry died later at a hospital.
No arrests have been made.
“This is something you never want to go through,” Cherry's father, Kenneth Cherry Sr., told KNTV. “This is the hardest thing in my life right now because you never want your children to leave before you leave.”
