Two hurt in city stabbing attacks

Two men have been treated in hospital following a number of "serious attacks" in Herefordshire.

West Mercia Police said a number of people were believed to have been attacked in the Hunderton area of Hereford.

One of the injured men has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where he remains in a serious condition, police said.

The force said all suspects had now been arrested.

A force spokesman said: "Police in Hereford are investigating a number of serious incidents in the city and elsewhere in Herefordshire this afternoon which resulted in two men being taken to hospital with stab wounds.

"Several people have been arrested and are in custody. We believe we have now accounted for all suspects connected with the incident.

"A large police presence will remain on the ground as we investigate and reassure local people."

Man held after fatal bus stabbing

The Hagley Road and surrounding pavements are closed off

A passenger has been stabbed to death on a bus in Birmingham city centre.

West Midlands Police said officers were called to the Hagley Road, at its junction with Five Ways, at about 07:40 GMT.

Police were responding to a call from a member of the public reporting that a passenger had been attacked.

West Ambulance Service said two ambulance crews attended the scene but nothing could be done to save the victim.

The road and surrounding pavements remain closed off.
